As the summer drew to a close, CIC campuses welcomed a new group of international teachers. From late August into early September, schools organized orientation and training to help new colleagues understand their campuses and prepare for the year ahead.
Each campus adapted the program to local needs, while keeping several common priorities at the center.
First connections
Meeting colleagues across cultures
Introductions, small-group activities and informal conversation helped new teachers begin building relationships. The sessions also opened an early discussion about what effective cross-cultural collaboration looks like in a school setting.
Campus orientation
Learning how each school works
Campus teams guided teachers through classrooms, offices, shared spaces and activity areas, explaining how each environment is used and the routines that support daily school life.
Systems and communication
Preparing for effective teaching from day one
Training on the Jupiter learning-management system covered practical tasks such as checking schedules, recording grades and communicating with students. Technical support gave teachers time to practice before using the system in their own classes.
Subject workshops and communication sessions then turned to classroom management, cross-cultural interaction and the needs of adolescent learners. Together, the sessions connected operational preparation with the human work of teaching.
A thoughtful welcome helps teachers begin with clearer expectations, stronger relationships and the confidence to focus on students.
We are grateful to everyone who organized and participated in the training—and pleased to welcome our new colleagues to the CIC community.
